Google has now announced that they are creating delivery drones that could even save lives after a disaster. Jack Stewart, the writer of this article, entered the secret building where these drones are being built, with Nic Roy, one of Google's employees. This secret building also known as The Hatchery is where Google is creating the next generation of drones. Roy explained that it is in The Hatchery where they build, test and rebuild many of their vehicles until they work perfectly. Project Wing, the program that Roy runs, is now creating self-flying vehicles. Various companies have been developing a variety of flying vehicles to help move people and packages in a more efficient way. The Hatchery is known to be the main lab where testing and development for these drones occur. Google's latest vehicle, found in the center of the lab, is a white wing that can fly vertically to transport packages. Google has tested this drone in Queensland, Australia where the drone sent dog treats to a rural farmer and then flew back to its base.
These drones could have a more serious effect on our everyday lives. If ever in a tough situation these vehicles could deliver supplies after a natural disaster, flood or hurricane. Drones would be able to move much farther than a truck if there was any type of natural disaster. Other than emergencies these drones could be used for online deliveries. They could easily drop packages at each home rather than have one polluting truck complete all the work.
Google's drones are part of our new and developed future. These self-flying vehicles could help improve our lives, by not only delivering packages but by saving lives. Drones could be beneficial to us in an enormous way. They could help us save time and money by delivering packages to several homes in a short period of time rather than have a truck stop at each home and waste gas. These flying vehicles could be the start of a bright future and a massive advancement in technology.

Very eye-catching topic, Talar. Although these drones are very technologically advanced and might be a tremendous help to us in the near future, the idea also scares me. Just like the children’s show, “The Jetsons”, these drones can take over our every day jobs, leaving humans lazy and jobless. Other than the intimidating thought that the summary led me to, it was very well written and described.
ReplyDeleteTalar’s post instantly captures the reader’s attention with its brief title, which is suggestive of a world that is the opposite of Christopher McCandless’s in the novel Into the Wild. Her presentation of the article is highly informative, while maintaining its frightening and fascinating charm as it calls to mind a dystopian future overrun by technology. It does, however, provide logical reasons as to why these drones would be beneficial to humans, and leaves readers with the hope of a brighter tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteA significant choice of topic Talar. Your summarization of the article and the analysis are well thought out. You shared specific and detailed points on the topic which helped me to understand the message the article tries to convey. You did an outstanding job and I am looking forward to reading more of your blogs.
ReplyDeleteThis post is definitely one worth talking about Talar! The vocabulary and writing is tremendous. What really catches the eye and compels the reader is the topic at hand. The future and what it holds is an intriguing subject and new concepts keep all people at the edge of their seats. The talk of new drones that can bring an extraordinary amount of positivity to the world can excite people all around. This is a wonderful topic to write about!
ReplyDeleteTalar, this post was organized, informative, and eye catching. This is an important topic that must be disgusted, because drones will help shape our future. It is a terrifying thought to think people’s lives will be left in the technological arms of drones but it is true that they will be a ginormous step forward for humanity. This blog post helped open my mind to the idea of drones becoming part of our future.
ReplyDeleteThis remarkably appealing interpretation of the newspaper article keeps the reader heavily engaged throughout the entire synopsis. It successfully covers the general message the article attempts to convey. Conversation on the topic of drones is fascinating, especially because it involves both the future and the present. It may be terrifying to some, but others may believe it is yet to develop into a significant component of our lives.
ReplyDeleteWell done Talar, simply well done! I am not ashamed to say that I had to wipe away a single tear and contain myself so I would not cry anymore because your work was truly brilliant. I am happy you chose this topic because it is always amusing to learn how much more advanced our technology can be and what we can do with it. I felt like your words took me on an amazing journey to a sacred place filled with nothing but happiness.
