If I Can Make It There, I Will Make It Anywhere.

I have always been intrigued in reading a variety of contrastive books because I believe each story is worth my time. My favorite book at the moment is My First New York by the editors of New York Magazine. From a mix of artists, actors, politicians, comedians, entrepreneurs, sports stars, writers and fashion icons comes a book about their first special memories in the immense city of New York. This book includes a collection of short stories about their first dates and lost loves, of their exceptional nights out in the city, and slow walks up Broadway and fast subway rides to downtown. Each memory written down is of significant importance because it describes the true events that occur in New York daily.
Until I came across My First New York, I never truly knew what the city had to offer. After reading each story I came to realize why New York is the place for dreamers and achievers. While in the city all your dreams could seem real and possible to achieve. There is the aroma of success and hope in the air, one that everyone is yearning for. After each story New York became more amazing to me, like a fantasy. These remarkable people wrote about their hardships also, which made the city feel even more real and each memory powerful. This book became educational to me because it taught me that if you want to be successful in this city or anywhere in fact, you have to seize each opportunity and make it your own. I do believe that if you make it there, you can make it anywhere.
